Lexington Bridge Club News
You know all that great food you get at our fantastic pot lucks? You will find many of the recipes in the Lexington Bridge Club Cookbook that is being prepared for publication. I canít wait to get my copy. Remember your recipes are due by March 31st. They need to be submitted on the forms that you can pick up at the club. If you are not able to get to the club before the deadline, e-mail Claudia Haller at email@example.com and she will send you the form in a return e-mail. Be sure to reserve your books by putting the number of copies you would like to purchase for $12.00 on the bottom of your submitted recipe. These cookbooks will make great gifts for birthdays, Christmas, or just a ďcause I like youĒ gift.
Weíre getting ready for our 6th year of Summer Bridge Camp sponsored by the Bridge Club of Lexington and Unit 164 of the American Contract Bridge League for youngsters age 8 to 19. The Camp will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. for five weeks beginning June 8 and ending July 8. All sessions will be held at the Bridge Club. April is Charity Month. Check your calendar for the Charity games that you can play in. These games provide lots and lots of points and cost only $1 extra which goes to charity. Donít miss out on those points!!
April 21, 2010! Thatís the anniversary of our new club. Can you believe weíve been in our beautiful new club for a year already?
Donít forget our Member/Guest night on Wednesday Evening April 21st at 6:30. Invite a friend who is new to duplicate or someone who has not played at our club for a long time, and play with that person. There will be a short introduction to Duplicate Bridge before the game begins, and a dessert break where guests may ask questions and discuss play. Guests play free and members pay only $3. Guests will also receive coupons for two additional free games, and members pay the reduced price for 3 games where they play with 3 different guests. And as a special bonus, guests will receive coupons for one free lesson PLUS 25% off the remaining lessons in the series to a maximum of $20.00.
8 is Enough for April will be held on April 25th. This will be a one session game, 5 rounds of six boards. The cost for the event will be $1 extra which will go toward the 2011 Nationals in Louisville. The pot luck will begin at 1:30 and play will begin at 2:00. Start organizing your teams now.
