Lexington Bridge Club News

February, 2010

The Sectional Tournament at our Club (ST@C) will be held March 8 - 14th.  Many clubs in our District 11 will be competing for huge Silver Points paid to the highest percentage winners.  The awards will be larger than most sectional tournaments since so many tables are in competition simultaneously.  Players get the higher of the points earned at the club or the District award, whichever is the larger award.  Cost will be only $3 more than you regularly pay at the club to cover the added expenses of a second Director at the District level and the added tournament expenses.

Our first SUPER 8 is Enough two session event was a huge success with 15 tables participating.  Since it did run a bit long, we have decided that our next 8 is Enough will be one session and will begin at 2:00 on Sunday March 28th.  We will be playing 5 rounds of 6 boards.  This will be a UNIT game costing $1 more and will yield more points; the extra money will be sent to support the NABC in Louisville in 2011.   Potluck will be at 1:30.  Get your teams together now!

Wacky Wednesday Evenings at 6:30 are full of fun games this month including an ACBL-Wide Charity Game with analyses on March 17th.   A mentor/mentee <300 points will be March 3rd  with mentors playing free.  March 24th is a 6:15 Potluck followed by a 6:30 Potluck Partners (come without a partner).  March 31st is an Open Individual Game using the standard yellow card (come without partners).

Our classes are on going with 2 eight week Beginners classes being taught by Donna Loeffler and a Defense class being taught by Dan Neill;  2 Easy Bridge Classes are being taught by Georgia Ringo on a drop-in basis.   If you are interested in any of these classes, please call the teachers or a Board Member.
